issue i:
“flying south”
notes on theme
As Bibelot is an Austin-based magazine, we chose the theme “Flying South” as our inaugural issue theme.
The choice of south represents the return flight home: back to a place of community and belonging. In submissions, we want to see these ideas examined.
Express your artistic vision however you wish. Let your ideas fly free. We are expecting to see unique imagery, vital voice, and wonderful craft within each piece — but most importantly, we value individual voice.
What do the ideas of return, home, community, and belonging mean to you?
