Oftentimes, in our fast moving world, art is likened to trinkets, traditionally in a derogatory manner. Connotations of uselessness and worthlessness are common. We want to take back this definition: we believe that small fascinations and lovely objects represent important thoughts, feelings, and memories.
At Bibelot, we want to provide a home place for creatives. We want to provide a place to hold all of the trinkets and cherish them, all of the lovely beautiful things that might have been maligned or rejected. Whether they are unsent letters, loose threads of prose, or a treasured yet-unseen drawing, we care deeply about every little precious thing.
The idea of creating a community is very important to us, and by providing a platform for young creatives to express themselves, we hope we can fulfill this purpose. We are defined first by lovely objects and second by flying birds: we hope to create a community to fly home to, a home where small joys are held and loved.
